What is password phishing?

"Phishing" is term that describes an attempt to steal important online information, such as passwords and private account information. Phishers can set up "fake" web sites or email that look exactly like those of trusted companies (such as Yahoo!) to trick unsuspecting users into disclosing information such as a user name and/or password. These pages can look nearly identical to the "real thing", so it can be hard to tell that you are on a fraudulent site. (This is also called "spoofing")
In the event you feel you have been "phished" we recommend you immediately change your password. Then, you should report the abuse to the company whose website or email was being spoofed.
